Oprah has spent over a decade working at the intersection of healing and systems change: supporting individuals in therapy, clinicians building their practice, and organizations navigating complexity. She is the founder and driving force behind Authentic Resilience Counseling and Consulting (ARCC). As a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW-C), Oprah has robust experience across both the mental health and nonprofit sectors. Her expertise spans individual therapy and professional development, and supporting individuals and organizations as they navigate change, build resilience, and achieve long-term success.
As a third-culture individual, Oprah has a deep understanding of the complexities of multicultural identities, which informs her culturally responsive approach to therapy and clinical supervision. She specializes in helping clients—particularly those from diverse cultural backgrounds—explore identity, strengthen resilience, and thrive despite challenges. Her professional background also includes roles as a clinical supervisor, program manager, and grant writer.
In addition to her clinical work, she has successfully secured over $8.6 million in funding and has played a key role in advancing community development initiatives and organizational growth strategies for nonprofits and educational institutions. Her commitment to racial equity and social justice is central to her work, ensuring that both clients and organizations are supported in building resilient, sustainable systems.
Through ARCC, Oprah leads with a focus on authentic partnership, empowering clients to shape their own journeys while providing the clinical insight, structure, and resources needed to support meaningful and lasting change.
Ebony Nicholson
LMSW, Associate Clinician & Therapist
Ebony is an associate clinician at ARCC, practicing under the clinical supervision of Oprah Keyes Patterson, LCSW-C. She brings a distinctive background in human resources and workplace equity to her clinical work, offering a grounded understanding of how professional environments, career stress, and systemic pressures shape our sense of identity and wellbeing.
She works with adult clients navigating life transitions, burnout, relationship shifts, and questions of purpose — with a particular interest in supporting Black women who are high-achieving, people-pleasing, or carrying invisible weight at work and at home. Her approach is warm, collaborative, and strengths-based, informed by racial literacy and a deep respect for the whole person.
